Rivington Unit Corridor Event

Healthwatch conduct regular corridor events at various Bolton FT NHS services. This report covers the comments received when visiting the Rivington Unit.

Summary:

34 individuals provided responses to the discussion point ‘what does good care mean to me’.

Comments can be themed into a number of areas:

  • General comment about what good care means
  • Comments about ‘Healthier Together’ (consultation process)
  • Carers issues
  • Quality care
  • Access
  • Being safe
  • Feeling dignified
  • Choice

Conclusions:

Good care means different things to people however common themes running through the feedback was related to patients being given accurate and timely information, being treated as individual, having sufficient time with clinicians to really talk and continuity of care.

There was concern over the moving of services and these concerns stretched across all areas of the population from carers, to those who were elderly and with complex mental health needs.
