Spotlight on Dementia

You are invited to our Spotlight on Dementia event being held on Monday 18th May and Tuesday 19th May.

We have been working closely with our partners at The Alzheimer’s society, Home Instead and Bolton Council, planning 2 dementia awareness community events. These events are taking place on Monday 18th May on Victoria Square, and Tuesday 19th May at Bolton Central Library. See information below:

There is an opportunity to take part in a sensory dementia experience on the Dementia bus (registration required) on Monday 18th May, please see information below for booking instructions, Please note, places are limited. Please feel free to share within your networks.


Monday 18 May-Victoria Square (11:00am–3:00pm)
Outdoor event with partner stalls and the Dementia Sensory Bus (booking required)

Tuesday 19 May-Bolton Central Library (11:00am–3:00pm)
Indoor event offering information, support, and signposting

Both events are focused on raising awareness, encouraging conversations, and connecting people to local support.

For Dementia Action Week, Home Instead is collaborating with Bolton Dementia Collaborative. As part of this, Home Instead is providing an immersive training session, running through the day with their own Dementia Bus. 

Home Instead have slots available to go through the training experience and would really like to give you and your colleagues or volunteers the opportunity to take part in this event. The trainer-led session takes 15 minutes (max 3 people per session) and there ae booking slots at various times throughout the day. 

If you would like to book yourself, a colleague or volunteer on to the dementia bus, please contact email dementiabus@bolton.homeinstead.co.uk or contact Emma on 01204 565065 as soon as possible, and they can give you the available timings. These slots are limited and being provided on a first come first served basis.
