Ian had worked with us for the past 6 years, first as a volunteer, then he became our research officer. He was a much loved and highly valued member of the team and we are so very sorry and saddened that he is gone. Ian was a friend to everyone, always had time for people and a cheeky smile on his face. He loved his job and he loved working at Healthwatch. He was like a family member, a good friend you could rely on, he was clever, funny and caring – we couldn’t ask for a better person to work with. He leaves a great hole in our hearts and we miss him terribly.
Ian was sadly diagnosed with terminal cancer in May this year and together with the pandemic has made it even more difficult to spend as much time with him as we had wanted. But we kept in close contact everyday, until he sadly died in Bolton Hospice on 2nd September.
Rest in peace Ian.
